Who this policy is for
This policy applies to the StopDance mobile app ("StopDance", "we", "us"). StopDance is a freeze-dance party game designed to be safe for children and families. Because it is directed to children, we hold ourselves to children's-privacy standards including the U.S. Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA), the EU General Data Protection Regulation including provisions for children (GDPR-K), and the Apple Kids Category and Google Play Families policies.
Information we collect
None. StopDance does not collect personal information. Specifically, the app does not collect or transmit names, email addresses, phone numbers, precise or coarse location, photos, contacts, device identifiers for advertising, or any behavioural or usage analytics.
Information stored on your device
StopDance saves a small amount of settings data locally on your device only, so the app remembers your preferences between sessions. This includes things like the chosen language, left/right-handed controls, sound & haptics on/off, victory-cheer on/off, the selected music source, and any custom dancer videos you add yourself. This information never leaves your device, is not sent to us or anyone else, and is removed when you delete the app.
No accounts and no sign-in
StopDance has no login, no user profiles, and no online accounts. You can use the entire app without providing any information about yourself or your child.
No advertising and no tracking
StopDance contains no third-party advertisements and no advertising or analytics SDKs. We do not build profiles, we do not use tracking technologies, and we do not sell or share any data (because we do not collect any).
Music and optional Apple Music
The bundled songs are kid-safe, royalty-free tracks that ship inside the app and require no connection. On supported Apple devices, a parent may optionally connect their own Apple Music to play a personal playlist. If you choose to use that optional feature, playback is handled by Apple's MusicKit under your own Apple Music subscription and is subject to Apple's Privacy Policy. StopDance itself still collects no personal data in this case.
Optional tempo data (GetSongBPM)
To help the on-screen dancers move in time with the beat, StopDance may look up a song's tempo (beats per minute). When this optional feature is enabled for the optional Apple Music feature, only a track's title and artist are sent to the tempo service GetSongBPM to retrieve a BPM value. No personal information and no information about you or your child is included in that request. The bundled catalog needs no such lookup.
Third-party services
StopDance does not integrate advertising networks, social networks, or analytics providers. The only optional, parent-initiated third-party services are Apple Music (for the optional BYO-playlist feature) and GetSongBPM (for optional tempo lookup), each described above.
Children's privacy
StopDance is safe for children. Because we collect no personal information from anyone, we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13 (or the equivalent age in your region). There is nothing for a child to enter, share, or expose. Any grown-up settings are placed behind a simple parental gate.
Data retention and deletion
Because no data is collected or stored off-device, there is nothing for us to retain or delete on our side. The on-device settings described above are removed when you uninstall the app or clear its data.
Changes to this policy
If we ever change how StopDance handles information, we will update this page and revise the "Last updated" date above. Material changes will be reflected here before they take effect.
